Leadership class was held on April 13th. The focus was volunteering in our community. We started at the Idaho Food bank where we helped bag onions and label soups.
Then we headed to the Old Town Pavilion where the Leadership board and alumni had an amazing lunch for us from Nel’s Bi-Lo Market.
After lunch we split into groups; the Leadership Alumni group went to Brooklyn’s Playground and helped finish up some projects.
My group started cleaning, weeding, and planting flowers around Old Town. We really enjoyed cleaning up Leadership Park. Next door is Main Steam Coffee where Tom Nestor saw us all working hard and brought us out drinks. We sure appreciated them on such a hot day. It was a beautiful day to walk around and clean up Old Town.
The other groups went to Simplot square, the Chamber Office, and Diplomat Park.
Then we all came together and went and planted flowers at Wilcox Elementary submitted by United Way.
The last class will be next Thursday, June 1st and it is called Diplomat Day. If you are interested in learning more about this program or signing up for next year’s class, visit www.leadershippocatellochubbuck.com
