Leadership Diplomat day was held on June 1st. We wrapped up our positive Leadership training and then invited speakers from our community to come and tell us about their non-profit organizations. We heard from DeAnn Wilson, the incoming President for the Bannock Civitans, Margaret Ganyo, CEO for United way of southeast Idaho, Matt Bloxham, one of the founders of FurFam, Courtney Fisher, President and one of the founders of Kind Community, Andrea Demartinis, Senior Services Director from SEICAA, Rev. Jim Jones, from POWMIA, Zonta, Rotary, and many others. Our community is filled with so many different ways to give back and so many people willing to help out. This was a great opportunity for the class to listen to the many different ways they can get involved and earn their diplomat points for their next year.
We headed over to the Zoo to hear from Peter Pruett and learn more about the zoo. He also talked about the Greenway and Zoo Idaho Zoo Society. We took a break to have an amazing lunch catered by the Sand Trap. During lunch we heard about all the different committees the Chamber offers: Chamber Champions, Beautification, Local Issues, Education, Legislative, and Tourism.
We ended our day and the year with an awesome tour of our Zoo.
