The Clarion Inn is located on Bench Road in the heart of Pocatello. The hotel has stood proudly for nearly 60 years and has been host to some legends, including Merle Haggard. Many locals know it as the old Holiday Inn with the infamous Holidome. Although now under a different name, the hotel continues to be home to the iconic swimming pool with the grizzly bear water fall.
The hotel recently renovated its public areas and meeting space, with plans to continue the upgrades to its 196 guest rooms. The 8,500 square feet of meeting space can accommodate any event from a small board meeting to a formal dinner for 300 guests.
The professional catering service has been led for the past 20 years by Head Chef, Jerry Dietz. In addition to catering, the hotel features the first Country Kitchen Restaurant in Idaho and the best kept secret of Pocatello, The Whisper’s Lounge.
On November 10th, the atrium will be transformed into a pineapple themed Business After Hours. The pineapple is the international symbol of hospitality which dates to the early days of England. When a captain would come back from a voyage, he would spear a pineapple on a fence post outside his home to let his friends know that he had returned safe from the sea. The pineapple was an invitation to visit, share food and drink, and listen to tales of his voyage.
Please join the Clarion staff for a Business After Hours, in conjunction with the Chamber Trade Show and Holiday Fair, on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. There will be a complimentary assortment of the hotel’s finest Hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and a signature pineapple themed cocktail.
