Moving Our Community Forward
It’s good to know the Siphon Road interchange may move forward and much needed development is likely to take place in our valley. It’s taken the work of many community leaders such as Bannock County Commissioners, Mayor Blad, Mayor England, Idaho Transportation Department, developers and others. It takes a great deal of collaboration to compete with other communities for projects and companies. The Chamber of Commerce and Bannock Development are two of those critical voices that work behind the scenes to help bring jobs to our region and advance our economy. Without the engagement of those organizations and the boards that govern them, we probably wouldn’t have the new companies and projects that we have enjoyed over the past several years. Speaking with one voice as a community to companies looking to expand or relocate is critical. We have been lucky that we have had company executives and local elected officials who have had the vision to help make Amy’s Kitchen, Allstate, Great Western Malting and many others, a reality in our community. We need their continued collaboration and support to recruit future companies and projects to Bannock County. So join me in thanking our elected officials for their commitment to our citizens, and please remember to be a positive voice for change as these groups seek to come to our area.
