Chamber Business by Jennifer Erchul, Chair of the Board

Happy Thanksgiving! The Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce promotes and fosters a favorable business climate through networking, advocacy, and educational opportunities for the benefit of Chamber Members and our Community. We are grateful for all our members and have hopes for all to prosper and grow in the years ahead.

As the board chair, I have so many reasons to give thanks this holiday season. Some of them include, but are not limited to:

Our Chamber staff: We have such a progressive, thoughtful staff at the PCCC. Not only do they do their jobs very well, they go above and beyond to ensure our members and non-members benefit from the works they do. Sometimes these efforts are behind the scenes and not easily recognized nor celebrated. I’d like to take this opportunity today to say “Thank you, PCCC staff, for all that you do to help our community prosper and grow. We appreciate you!”

Our Chamber members: As membership continues to build at the PCCC, we are grateful for the opportunities presented. Our members have great thoughts on how to continually improve the PCCC and ways to provide better value to our members. We appreciate the input and welcome new ideas. Thank you, PCCC members, for helping us provide the supports and resources we do, and for encouraging us to always look for ways to improve. You are extremely valued!

Our Committee volunteers: We have such a robust community of committed volunteers, whether it’s for a community breakfast, advocacy committee or ribbon cutting with a new business, our pool of volunteers tops all! Their dedication and willingness to always go above and beyond speaks volumes towards the caliper of people involved in the PCCC. You truly make our Chamber thrive. Thank you!

Our community members: Your support of our organization and attendance at events is outstanding! We appreciate your involvement, whether you’re a Chamber member or not. We exist to enhance the community you live, work and play in, so having you participate in the events we support is evidence that when we all work together, great opportunities occur. Thank you for participating!
As we roll into this season of celebration, let’s remember to support our community’s businesses and celebrate their successes. Before you purchase through an on-line outlet, check out what our shops offer. You might be surprised at what you find locally. Shopping local is an easy way to “give back” and enhance our community, providing more opportunity for robust retail/restaurant/service growth and success.

Happy Thanksgiving, and remember as you’re going down your holiday shopping list, think local first!
