Leadership Pocatello-Chubbuck is sponsored by the Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce and has a 34-year history. Many of you reading this newsletter are alumni of the Leadership Program and we’re sure you have fond memories of the events and the people with which you shared them. One common theme expressed by alumni is how much they learned about Pocatello and southeast Idaho regardless of whether they were original residents or transplants.
Leadership Pocatello-Chubbuck is a two-year program designed to build and prepare future leaders of the communities in the Pocatello area as it brings together a diverse group of individuals from government, non-profit and business organizations. Participants learn important leadership skills and are exposed to a broad variety of community organizations and activities. In addition, they are exposed to community challenges and concerns and the local organizations that are providing support and solutions to address them. The goal of the program is to encourage participants to become more involved in the community and share their ideas and energy to enhance our local communities.
Participants must be a member in good standing of the Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce and must apply for the program. Each year a limited number are accepted based on their experience and merit, and the class typically has 20-30 individuals that represent a diverse cross-section of the community.
