An estimated 19% or approximately 10 tons of old QwestDex phone books were recycled in 2004. We estimate approximately 10,500 area residents participated by recycling their old QwestDex directory.
Through everyone’s efforts more than 190,665 tons of outdated QwestDex phone books have been recycled since 1991. Had these phone books not been recycled, they would have stretched over 17,698 miles when laid end to end which would stretch from Washington DC to Los Angeles, more than five times.
Providing and promoting recycling options for old QwestDex phone books is a not for profit community service brought to you in partnership with your many area waste haulers / recyclers, community leaders and Dex. We appreciate your support as we work together to make a very real and positive impact on our community. |
